"Five years ago, three of my students encouraged me to “just play around” with some choreography after class. For an entire summer, we did just that, and slowly, without any pressure to make anything in particular, we built a dance called “What We Have”. We were invited to perform that piece at Boost Dance Festival in 2013, where it was very well-received by the audience and the local critics, and it remains one of our mainstays in our repertoire today.

In that same fashion, the company now known as Catapult Dance continues to build work. To date, Catapult Dance has three completed works that have been invited to participate in seven dance festivals in three years. Our work has been commissioned to be set on other companies twice and we have co-produced one evening length performance.

On September 23 and 24 th of 2016, we will embark on our greatest endeavor yet, self-producing
our own evening of dance. We will be showing two new works, “Resistance” and “Things That
Must Be Earned”, and have invited a Guest Artist, Stephanie Liapis Dance Projects, to join us."
